SDSU journalism staff headshots

I am a proud master alumni of San Diego State University. I loved every minute of my time in the journalism department at this awesome university and I’ve been fortunate enough to create and keep wonderful relationships with my professors there. The best is that sometimes, I get to work with them. Last year, I had the opportunity to exhibit my Portraits Of My Father series in the halls of the department where I went as student, years before I turned my attention to photography. It was wild to me as it felt I was coming back to my alma matter as an honored guest. I was very proud.

This year, I was asked if I could photograph the professors of the Journalism and Media Studies department and there’s no way I wasn’t finding the time to do this with them. It was a real treat. Who said that headshots had to be boring? why can’t we make this fun for everyone and create engaging portraits that offer something more than just a face? Certainly not me. :)

Special shout out to Dr. Schmmitz Weiss though, one of my favorite professors while I was there and the person who kept me connected to the department so that i can do cool stuff like this today.

I hope you enjoy the photos.
