A Very Special Photo Shoot
One of the single most gratifying thing in this business is when photographers recommend you because they think you’re THE person they think of when they can’t service a lead that seeks ______ (insert keyword here) and they don’t do this type of photography.
In this case, a friend of mine sent me the Stonecypher family my way because they were in town on vacation and wanted some black and white studio portraits. So yes, I am your guy for that.
They came in Hawaiian shirts and vacation outfits but we all wanted to do elevated modern portraits and we got to it. Atfer resolving some technical difficulties which had me sweating bullets, we got working and boy did we have some fun. I loved working with them. They were game for anything and I was in a mood to push the limits anyways, so I decided to inspire myself from my visual mentors Stephan Vanfleteren and Irving Penn and even from a classic painting for one of the poses.
Here are the photos from the session… what do you think?
